Lana Kova

Wrapped in our Naomi robe, Lana steps into a quiet moment in tropical paradise, away from New York City - a city she calls home.

After a modeling career in Paris, London, Milan, and New York, Lana established Lana Kova Studio in Tribeca - a neighborhood in lower Manhattan. It’s where she spends time creating, which she describes as an exploration of feelings: intimacy and confrontation, repetition, intimacy and deformation.

Looking at Lana’s artwork, one would notice her distinct clean, minimalistic style, which stems from her interest in Japanese pottery and geometry. Born in Ukraine and raised in Russia, Lana developed interests in geometry and mathematics - eventually leading her to earn a master’s degree in economics, before embarking on a modeling career in Europe. Years of experience in modeling for design houses such as Chanel Ateliers sparked her interests in art and craftsmanship.

Self-taught in painting and sculpture, Lana developed her techniques at La Grande Chaumière in Paris, and Greenwich House Pottery in New York.

“Experience of these years showed me contemporary art as a dynamic process engaging personal creativity and a melt of science and ideological concepts. That’s when I felt in love and found my destiny in being an artist.”
